The Check Point Database Tool, also referred to as GuiDBedit, is a graphical user interface (GUI) that enables its users to edit objects and properties in the SmartCenter management database. This Database Tool allows users to change properties that cannot be edited using SmartDashboard.

Advisory: Due to the powerful database editing abilities supplied by the tool, only experienced users should work with it.

• Availability - Since VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG FP3, the Database Tool has been available and supplied as part of the SmartConsole installation.For VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG with AI R54, the Database Tool is also available from the Next Generation Utilities web page.
  
  
  • Select SmartCenter Tools -> Database Tool.
  • Download the respective zipped archive for your version.
  • Extract the file ReadMe.txt from the zipped archive, and follow the installation instructions supplied in this file.
  
  
• The Database Tool executable - GuiDBedit.exe - is located in the same folder where the SmartConsole is installed. Usually this is the C:\Program Files\CheckPoint\SmartConsole\<version>\PROGRAM\ directory.

Note: it is suggested to backup your environment before using GuiDBedit.

Check Point的数据库工具，图形化用户界面，允许用户修改SmartCenter管理数据库中的对象及属性。该数据库工具允许用户修改SmartDashboard中不能被修改的属性(汗～！！)。

由于该工具的能力十分强大，所以只有有经验的用户可以使用(再汗～！！！)。

自从VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG FP3之后，该数据库工具已被集成到SmartConsole中了。但正常安装后是不会自动显示出来的。可以找到安装路径，直接运行即可。

一般安装路径均是
C:\Program Files\CheckPoint\SmartConsole\<version>\PROGRAM\

可以说该要工具是Check Point的底层工具了，所有SmartDashboard以及后台能修改的东西，在这里均可修改，他们不能修改的东西，GUIdbedit仍可以修改。包括对象属性，全局属性，系统属性，策略，VPN，用户权限，证书，等等。相当于Windows的注册表编辑器。

最后注意一点就是使用该工具前建议做好备份。
